To receive his father's "farmshed" under the terms of William Ombler's will dated 22 Apr 1619 and proved 4 May 1620.
An Inquisition Post Mortem taken at Preston on 29 Sep 1619 declared that his father at his date of death was siezed of various lands in Lelley and Lelley Dyke of Sir Henry Constable's manor of Burstwick and that John, aged 26, was his son and next
heir.
